Summer Fashion

Hello there lovelies!

It's finally Summer!!! so I thought I would share with y'all some Summery fashion trends that I am LOVING and that I recommend for you guys to try out! (Only if you want to of course)

Boyfriend Tees

I am in LOVE with these boyfriend style tees at the moment. They are basically oversized t-shirts which sometimes have rolled up sleeves pre sewn, or you can roll them yourself, which are really comfy to wear. They really go with skinny jeans, black leggings/disco pants and denim shorts  to add that 'grunge' look this summer.

I picked up a few from Primark for £3.99 in Grey and Grey with black spots and washed out blue but there are loads of different colours you can choose from. You can also buy them from Topshop for around £30 and they also have lots of other styles to choose from.

Cropped Tees

It has been mega hot here in the UK and please take this lightly but wearing clothes is too much in this heat, so I decided to invest in some crop tees. These tees are amazing and really keep you feeling cool in these summer days.

I picked up two from primark the other day, one was a black loose cut out boyfriend tee for £3 and the other was a bambi disney baggy cropped tee for £6. I thought I would give them a go and see how I find them but at the moment I am loving them! They go really well with high waisted shorts or even a skater skirt for a light summery feel.

Summer Brights

It seems to me that bright neons are making their way back into fashion this summer and I must say that I like it! I know a couple of years ago shops were full of tacky neon prints and designs spreading their way through the nation, but I think that this summer the 'Neon' style has been approached slightly more classier.

A couple of weeks ago I bought this 'White neon laced' dress by Henry Holland for £30 from Debenhams and I absolutely love it! Not only do I love the white floral design and skater skirt like quality, the dress has an underlay of neon yellow making the dress look very light and summery. I have worn this dress on numerous occasions to places like the Goodwood racecouse and the theatre.

I am also loving bright neon nail varnishes at the moment, especially to show off my toenails in this summer heat! I purchased two colours the other day from the Boots collection '17', 'Orange soda' and 'Tropical Island' which are slight shades of orange which I think are perfect for this summer. Both shades are very vibrant, giving the neon effect and contrast well with most outfits. I am loving trying out new nail varnishes this summer due to still having my acrylics on from prom, which I may keep on longer for my holiday in two weeks, but we'll see.

Summer BBQ

Hello beautiful people!

The night of prom (which I wrote about in my previous post ) we all stayed at my friend's house, Jessie's. The day after, last Saturday, most of us stayed for a BBQ which Jessie had organised for us all and parents. Luckily it was a beautiful sunny day. Even though most of us had about 4 hours sleep, we were all pretty enlightened by the BBQ.

Jade and I

It was lovely to really hang out with each other and it was a perfect end to the prom the night before.

Prom

Hello there lovely people!

On Friday night we had our Year 11 leavers prom. Let me just begin by saying that it was absolutely amazing and I loved it so so much.

Nicola, Ele and I
My friend, Jess, invited a few of us around hers before hand for champagne and pictures. It was lovely and it definitely calmed my nerves seeing all of my friends before the actual prom.

Nicola, Lauren, Me, Georgia, Ele, Azrah, Jessica, Louise, Ella

I then left to get to the firestation, where my dad works, as I was getting a fire engine to take me to prom.
It was amazing and I even some of the teachers said it was an amazing entrance.

It was really lovely seeing everyone in my year outside the actual venue which was at a racecourse. Everyone looked amazing and it was great seeing so many people had embraced the 'prom' idea of buying dresses and doing the whole hair and make up thing.

We then entered the venue which had a balcony overlooking the racecourse; It was beautiful.

We had our dinner and then took to the dance floor. Oh dear lord it was hot! I literally loved it, I am not a dancer but when the music plays, I just don't care. I just go with it. Jade and I were proper going for it, and I would like to thank her for putting up with my sexual dancing.

After prom we went back to my friend Jessie's house for a post prom party. It was so much fun and it just finished the night with an incredible evening

A weekend in Cornwall

Hello there!

At the weekend my family and I were invited to a wedding of one of my Dad's closest friends from his childhood. They live in Cornwall, right at the end in Sennon Cove, Lands end, a beautiful place we have visited various times growing up.

We were invited to the evening reception at the local inn, where we had a lovely diner and we enjoyed the disco/party in the evening. Through out the night we overlooked the amazing views of Sennon Cove beach, a place known for it's surfing waves and summer time sunbathing. It was beautiful.

After we finished our meals, my brother and I wondered down to the beach (I was wearing heals so obviously I had to take them off) to visit the beach where we would come to on holiday.

As you can see, it was pretty windy but it was surprisingly quite warm. There were various youngsters from the wedding, one being the bridesmaid, who were in the rock pools getting their dresses soaked in sea water, enjoying the lovely summers evening.

I wanted to take a lot of photos on my new camera as we only come here once a year or so and it is literally my favourite place on earth. Unfortunately we were only there properly for one day so we couldn't walk around Land's End to see the picturesque views we normally see.

We camped at a local camp site in our caravan for the two nights. It was really windy and rainy on the first night, however it was a good experience.

I had my trusty ice tea to keep me going through the 6 hour journey
Overall it was an amazing weekend. The wedding was fantastic and congratulations to the bride and groom, Matt and Helen.

I am looking forward to going back there next year, and hopefully get to do some surfing!

That's all from me today!, I hope this was an interesting post.

My May Favourites

Hello there chums!

This month has been full of revising, stress and more stress...

However I was able to go on a bit of a beauty shopping spree and finally buy some products which I have seen and have wanted to try out for ages.

Here are my May favourites

Beauty Favourites:

  • The first May favourite is the 'Loreal Paris - Studio Matt and Mess Salt spray', At first I was a bit wary of this product because I have used products in the past which have made my hair look greasy but this one didn't. Sometimes I like to have my hair curly, with a natural beach hair look and because my hair is annoying, it always goes straight after a few hours. However, with this product, if I scrunch up some hair and spray this in to it, my hair seems to stay a bit more curled than normal. I recommend this product to people with fairly short to mid length hair as the spray cannot always keep the 'beach-look' for long on heavier hair. This product was £3.56 from Boots.

  • My second May favourite is the 'Eco Tools - Foundation and Blusher brush'. I've been wanting to get some make-up brushes for a while now but have been put off from the such high prices. However, I saw these brushes in Boots and both brushes cost £7.99 each. I thought this was fairly reasonable compared to other brushes I have seen, such as model's own. The brushes both have really good quality and are made completely from bamboo and recycled materials. The foundation brush at times can be quite streaky, but along with the brusher brush, you can really help improve the coverage of foundation and/or powder on your skin. I recommend these products to people who like to try something new with their foundation and blusher.

  • The next of my May favourites, is the 'Loreal - Super liner - Perfect slim'. I got recommended this product from my friend, Lauren, and also I saw 'Zoella' uses it to do her perfect, signature cat eye. I got this product from Superdrug for £6.99, which is relatively reasonable priced for a good quality eye liner. The spongy nib of the liner is very thin, so it is very fine and detailed. I use this product to put a bit of a flick on the edges of my eyes which gives the 'Cat-eye' effect. I love this product so much and I will be purchasing it again once it has run out.

  • My next May favourite is the 'Rimmel London - Stay Matte Foundation' which I bought from Boots for £5.99. I originally wanted to buy this product because the previous foundation I was using was leaving my skin very shiny and I didn't really like it. So I decided to purchase a bit more expensive, higher quality foundation which will prevent the 'Shiny' affect on my face, And I must say, It works. The foundation tube itself seems very small but I have been using it most days for 2 months now and it is almost half used, so don't let your eyes be deceived! The foundation leaves a matt finish and with the 'Rimmel London - Stay Matte Powder' that I also have for £3.99, my face stays covered for the whole day.

Extra Favourites:

  • This month I have been addicted to a new music artist. His name is Lewis Mokler and I found out about him from 'PointlessBlog' 's (Alfie Deyes)  recent Vlog video on YouTube of him and Louis in London. Alfie used various tracks of Lewis' in the background and from the first second I heard it, I loved it. I immediately downloaded his EP on Itunes called 'Skybound' and I have literally been playing it daily. Many people say that he sounds like Ed Sheeran, which I can see but I think Lewis should be recognised as being an individual artist who also writes his own music. Here is my favourite song of his 'Let Go' which is very relevant at the moment for me as the song is about people moving away and it hurts, and as I have just left High School, I am not going to see some of my closest friends as much as I would like to :)

  • My final May favourite is more of an abstract theme. Support. The whole of May has literally been full of exams after exams after exams (do you see?) and well...I am pretty lucky to have such a lovely, supporting friendship group. Every time we would have an exam, we would all hug each other and wish each other to do well and well.... I must say it helps me. It helps me feel more confident and to feel like I have someone who supports me. And to be honest, without my friends, I don't know how I would have got through these May exams and I am pleased to say that I only have four more exams to get through and then it's Summer! :D And well yes, it has definitely been one of my May favourites.

Thank you very much for reading and please comment below if you have enjoyed this post and whether you want me to do future monthly favourites!

That's all from me today, have a good day now.

25 Facts About Me!

Hello there chums!

Sorry I haven't been able to post in a while. As it is coming up to Summer, I will have LOTS of time to blog and share more of my life with you amazing people!

Right today I am going to post a '25 Facts about me' as it ultimately allows you guys to actually know a bit more about me! I hope you find it relatively interesting, but I thought before I started writing more personal posts about my life and interests, you amazing people should know a bit more about the life of Ellie!

This post was inspired by my best friend Lauren, Check Lauren's blog out here :)

Right so here it goes!...

25 Facts About Me

1) I am 16 years old and I am in my last year of high school and I'm leaving in June (Yay!).
My friend Beth (Left) and I (Right) on a carousal in Brighton

2) I come from the southern coast of England, right by the beach which I absolutely love. (hence my background)

3) I have an amazing group of best friends, which are my life. I love them all.
Sweet 16th with Lauren

4) My best friend is Lauren (mentioned above) and we have the same birthday (we are not twins). We have been chums since the first year of high school and we have had so many amazing memories together and hopefully more memories to come over the next years. Love you gurl :)

5) I am a music freak. A day doesn't go by without me listening to my ipod on my dock on full blast. (I will write a post about my favourite music)

6) I love fashion and beauty. My inspirations are 'Zoella''Sprinkle Of Glitter' and 'Bunny' from YouTube. They are just amazing and have their own unique ways about them, I love them :)

7) I love going to concerts. It's just the atmosphere and the music, it beats anything else in life. (I will write a future post on concerts I have been to)

8) I love going camping. It would prefer an adventure holiday camping with nature any day than going abroad. I just think that there are enough beautiful spots in my country (UK) to explore before we go abroad, such as Cornwall and Wales.

9) My parents split up when I was three, so  I live with my Dad and his partner and my older brother. I see my Mum nearly every weekend as she lives along the coast from me. So I am quite lucky really that I have the support of both of my parents, as unfortunately sometimes it doesn't work like that for some people; which I think is sad.

10) Ever since I was a toddler my dad has taken me and my brother on many camping trips to places like Lands End, in Cornwall. I think this is why I absolutely love camping and nature today, I have basically grown up with it.

11) I belong to a local acting/drama group with my best friend Lauren, which we do every Thursday evening. I absolutely love it. It is not something I would like to pursue as a career as it's not really realistic, but I just love acting.

12) I also love singing. I don't even know if I am that good at it yet but yes you could say it is my life.

13) At school, for my GCSE options, I have taken Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, French, Business Studies and a few more pointless ones.

14) I would like to say that I try my hardest at school and I think that is why I get relatively good grades, mostly B's, A's and a few A*'s.

15) In  the future I would like to peruse a job in medicine, such as a doctor, because I love working with people and I would consider myself as a caring person. I also wouldn't mind having my own business, I have no idea what in though, maybe beauty or fashion?

16) I have a slight obsession love for Olly Murs, if you don't know who this gorgeous man is click here :)

17) I don't really watch TV but when I do I only watch three shows. Big Bang Theory, New Girl and Dance Moms (Thanks Lauren for getting me obsessed).

18) I like to go running, especially along the beach. I think it is just an escapism for me, from exam stress mainly.

19) I love cooking; mainly sweet things. I make a mean Marble cake :) (Oh and microwave brownies).

20) I love the summer, I cannot wait to spend most of it relaxing and seeing friends.

21) You could call me a 'thrill seeker'. I am always up for trying something new and exciting. I get bored quite easily.

22) I am very patriotic. If you could see my room, it's just full of Union Jacks. I don't know why, I just love my country and I am proud to be a part of it.

23) I hate bullying. If someone hurts or affects one of my friends or family, I will stand up for them and even myself. I believe you should treat others how you would like to be treated.

24) I like to be individual. We didn't get put on this earth to be copies of one another, we should all have our own personal stamp and views on things. If this is buy fashion, music taste etc, we shouldn't all follow one trend because it is seen as 'cool'.

25) And finally, I love writing (hence this blog). I just feel it is a good way to express yourself and let other people on the internet to read and learn about you. I guess I am quite an expressive person.
