Book Review: The fault in our stars

Wow this book...I cannot explain to you how moved I am after reading this. I mean...emotionally, it has ruined me.

If you've read this book, you'll know where I am coming from....
(I won't give too much away for anyone wanting to read it.)

The deep concept of a 16 year old girl, the same age as myself, going through such a chronic disease, Cancer, was heart wrenching to say the least. The utter compassion and motivation of this young girl, Hazel, made me truly realise how I, a member of many of the 'young generation' club, should appreciation the littlest things in life and be grateful for our bodies and lives being relatively normal.

In the novel, it explains that Hazel began her fight with  Cancer in her early teens, a time where any normal teenage girl should be out with friends, enjoying life. At the age I am now, I am eager to begin my life away from home and in a way I am kind of  wishing my teenage years away for the feel of adult life and I guess a bit of freedom. So to read about a teenage girl not being able to live her teenage years like the rest of us due to the disease is heart breaking. But then there is me, wanting a life beyond the teenage years and this kind of made me feel guilty.

The emotional roller coaster developed within the novel is so gripping and I literally couldn't put the book down! I managed to read half of it on the way back from Spain and I have only just finished it today. Three days to read a book is a pretty good achievement for me, so it shows this. book. is. something.

So if you haven't already read this book, I HIGHLY recommend you do. It literally gives you a different perspective on life.
(WARNING: You may suffer emotionally)

Holiday Haul

Hello there lovely people!

Sorry for the lack of posts but I have literally just got back from holiday in Spain! (yay for the sun) Yeah...England is pretty naff compared to be honest...But I love it here, I am quite patriotic :)

So! When I was away I may have bought a few things?...the markets there are amazing and you can get some really amazing things for pretty reasonable prices.

So I thought I would show you all some of the things I got!

Cosmetics

I may have got a wee bit obsessed of buying nail varnishes whilst on holiday. But they're like 90 cence so and that's like 70p so you can't go wrong!

(None of the nail varnishes had names so I'm going to be imaginative for you)

Baby Blue
Duck Egg Blue
Deep Sea
Lavender
Mauve
Pink Candy
Sunflower

Jewellery

In the past I have not really been a 'jewellery lover' but recently I have wanted to buy more and kind of 'force' myself to wear some and not be as boring.

I purchased this watch from the Spainish market for 10 euros. I have always wanted a rose gold watch and have been put of from the prices so this was ideal! Yes it is fake but it's functional right? I love it.

I got this beaded bracelet also from the Spainish Market for 3 euros. I liked the exotic, summery colours and it was different from most bracelets I have seen.
I got this 'Grecian' style necklace from the Spainish Market for 8 euros. I love the pattern engraved on the necklace, it gives an 'aztec' feel to it. I also love the shape and size of it, very different from the long necklaces I normally purchase.

I got this bird ring from the Spainish Primark in the sale for 1 euro! Bargin! It's a bit big for my fingers but it can be used as a thumb ring...I can make it work :)
I got this long skull necklace also from the Spainish Primark for 1 euro! I love it.
I got this feather necklace also from the Spanish Primark for 3 euros with a pair of feather earrings. The clasp is unfortunately broken so will have to fix it before wearing it :(

Clothing

I normally don't really buy clothes abroad at markets etc because there is nowhere really to try items on to see if they fit. But I took a gamble...

I got these coral floral shorts from a market for 9 euros. I was dubious at first whether they would fit or suit me but when I tried them on to wear out for dinner in Spain, I loved them! They are mega comfy and I love the coral colour.
I got this tiger, paisley designed tank top from Primark for like 4 euros. If you know me, you know I love animals and especially tigers. I also love this hippie type design and it goes really nicely with demin shorts or even skinny jeans. I love it.
I got this Minnie mouse jumper from Primark in the sale for 7 euros. I LOVE my jumpers, especially unusual ones and I literally fell in love with this one. I am a HUGE Disney fan to say the least and well..this is meant to be a pyjama top but to be honest, I may just wear it for casual wear :)
I got these thumper pyjama bottoms from Primark also for around 8 euros. I LOVE thumper and the movie Bambi so these were ideal for me. They are so comfy! and they tighten at the ankles which I love.
Pyjama'd up

Sooo! That is basically everything that I bought on holiday to share with you guys!

Summer Fashion

Hello there lovelies!

It's finally Summer!!! so I thought I would share with y'all some Summery fashion trends that I am LOVING and that I recommend for you guys to try out! (Only if you want to of course)

Boyfriend Tees

I am in LOVE with these boyfriend style tees at the moment. They are basically oversized t-shirts which sometimes have rolled up sleeves pre sewn, or you can roll them yourself, which are really comfy to wear. They really go with skinny jeans, black leggings/disco pants and denim shorts  to add that 'grunge' look this summer.

I picked up a few from Primark for £3.99 in Grey and Grey with black spots and washed out blue but there are loads of different colours you can choose from. You can also buy them from Topshop for around £30 and they also have lots of other styles to choose from.

Cropped Tees

It has been mega hot here in the UK and please take this lightly but wearing clothes is too much in this heat, so I decided to invest in some crop tees. These tees are amazing and really keep you feeling cool in these summer days.

I picked up two from primark the other day, one was a black loose cut out boyfriend tee for £3 and the other was a bambi disney baggy cropped tee for £6. I thought I would give them a go and see how I find them but at the moment I am loving them! They go really well with high waisted shorts or even a skater skirt for a light summery feel.

Summer Brights

It seems to me that bright neons are making their way back into fashion this summer and I must say that I like it! I know a couple of years ago shops were full of tacky neon prints and designs spreading their way through the nation, but I think that this summer the 'Neon' style has been approached slightly more classier.

A couple of weeks ago I bought this 'White neon laced' dress by Henry Holland for £30 from Debenhams and I absolutely love it! Not only do I love the white floral design and skater skirt like quality, the dress has an underlay of neon yellow making the dress look very light and summery. I have worn this dress on numerous occasions to places like the Goodwood racecouse and the theatre.

I am also loving bright neon nail varnishes at the moment, especially to show off my toenails in this summer heat! I purchased two colours the other day from the Boots collection '17', 'Orange soda' and 'Tropical Island' which are slight shades of orange which I think are perfect for this summer. Both shades are very vibrant, giving the neon effect and contrast well with most outfits. I am loving trying out new nail varnishes this summer due to still having my acrylics on from prom, which I may keep on longer for my holiday in two weeks, but we'll see.

Summer BBQ

Hello beautiful people!

The night of prom (which I wrote about in my previous post ) we all stayed at my friend's house, Jessie's. The day after, last Saturday, most of us stayed for a BBQ which Jessie had organised for us all and parents. Luckily it was a beautiful sunny day. Even though most of us had about 4 hours sleep, we were all pretty enlightened by the BBQ.

It was lovely to really hang out with each other and it was a perfect end to the prom the night before.

Prom

Hello there lovely people!

On Friday night we had our Year 11 leavers prom. Let me just begin by saying that it was absolutely amazing and I loved it so so much.

Nicola, Ele and I
My friend, Jess, invited a few of us around hers before hand for champagne and pictures. It was lovely and it definitely calmed my nerves seeing all of my friends before the actual prom.

I then left to get to the firestation, where my dad works, as I was getting a fire engine to take me to prom.
It was amazing and I even some of the teachers said it was an amazing entrance.

It was really lovely seeing everyone in my year outside the actual venue which was at a racecourse. Everyone looked amazing and it was great seeing so many people had embraced the 'prom' idea of buying dresses and doing the whole hair and make up thing.

We then entered the venue which had a balcony overlooking the racecourse; It was beautiful.

We had our dinner and then took to the dance floor. Oh dear lord it was hot! I literally loved it, I am not a dancer but when the music plays, I just don't care. I just go with it. Jade and I were proper going for it, and I would like to thank her for putting up with my sexual dancing.

After prom we went back to my friend Jessie's house for a post prom party. It was so much fun and it just finished the night with an incredible evening
